These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of beatvaults. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
1. The Service
beatvaults scans your uploaded music against public catalogs to surface possible unauthorized uses. Results are informational · we do not adjudicate ownership or infringement. Filing a claim with a platform is your decision and your responsibility.
2. Eligibility & Account
- You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EEA, 18 in jurisdictions requiring it for contract).
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your credentials, including 2FA recovery codes.
- One person, one account. Sharing accounts is not permitted.
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
3. Your Content
You retain all rights to the audio you upload. You grant beatvaults a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive license to process your uploads solely to provide the service: store the file, compute fingerprints and embeddings, send those derived signals to public catalogs for matching, and display results back to you. We do not use your audio to train models, sell, or share with anyone outside the matching pipeline described in our Privacy Policy.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Upload audio you do not have the right to process · including stems lifted from another producer's session, leaked masters, or content covered by another exclusive license.
- Use beatvaults to harass, defame, or extort anyone, or to file knowingly-bogus DMCA claims.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to circumvent rate limits, paywalls, or authentication.
- Resell access to the service.
- Upload malware, scripts, or non-audio files masquerading as audio.
- Submit content that infringes third-party rights or violates applicable law (CSAM, illegal under local jurisdiction, etc.).
5. Subscription & Billing
- Paid plans are billed monthly via Stripe. Prices are visible on the pricing page.
- Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the period end. Cancel anytime in Account → Manage Billing.
- We do not offer refunds for partial periods, but we honor cancellations and pro-rate any chargeback investigations promptly.
- Taxes (VAT/GST) are added where applicable.
6. Match Accuracy & Limitations
Audio fingerprinting is probabilistic. False positives and false negatives are inherent to any acoustic-similarity system. Results are presented with confidence scores and verdicts (definite/likely/possible/unlikely). You are responsible for reviewing results before taking any action (filing claims, sending takedown notices, public accusations). We are not liable for downstream consequences of acting on a result.
7. Intellectual Property
beatvaults, the logo, the matching pipeline, and all related code are our property. Open-source components retain their original licenses (see the in-repo ATTRIBUTIONS file). Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of our IP to you.
8. DMCA / Copyright
We respect intellectual property and respond to valid DMCA notices. See our DMCA Policy for the takedown process and our designated agent.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time (Account → Delete Account). We may suspend or terminate accounts for material breach of these Terms, with reasonable notice where feasible. After termination we follow the deletion timelines in our Privacy Policy.
10. Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that scan results are exhaustive or error-free.
11. Liability Cap
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
12. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim arising out of your content, your use of the service, or your violation of these Terms · including claims that audio you uploaded infringed someone else's rights, or that a takedown notice you filed was wrongful.
13. Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where beatvaults is registered, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Disputes will first be attempted to be resolved informally; failing that, courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive venue, except where mandatory consumer-protection law gives you access to your local courts.
14. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes are announced via email at least 14 days before they take effect.
